"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." ~Mahatma Gandhi

What things ignite your desire to help make this world a better place? Really think about this. How can your life goals not only fulfill your own needs but contribute to the community.

- Usually when I see those very depressing commercials on TV (such as the one with the Adoptable children or the Adoptable dogs) my mind starts to think of how I can make the world a better place. It would be hard for me to go through my life goals and help the community at the same time because my life goals don't really associate with the community. My life goals are to make A LOT of money. A LOT. The only way I would be able to help the community and make money at the same time is to open up something in my town that people can use.

Verizon Buys AOL for $4.4 Billion
With advertisers' dollars in mind, Verizon Communications plans to swallow up AOL and its digital content.
Verizon announced Tuesday that it has signed a deal to acquire AOL for $50 per share, for a total value of $4.4 billion. A powerhouse during the dot-com boom more than a decade ago, AOL has become something of an afterthought amid today's online trendsetters, but it does have a stable of Web publications and packs some video savvy as well.
The takeover reflects Verizon's growing video ambitions and its desire to marry that with its own mobile prowess.

Do Now: Invisible Cloak

In the morning when I woke up, I threw on the cloak to see if it actually worked. Which it did, I went into my mom's room, took her remote and started waving it in the air, and she thought there was a ghost in her room. If I didn't remove it in time she would have had a heart attack. My first thought was, i'm definitely taking this in Public.
When I was walking to school I saw from a far, a girls purse get taken away from her. The guy that took it was running my way. He was about 100 yards away. I had just enough time to put on the invisible cloak. Once I got done putting it on he was about 35 yards away from me. I sprinted forward trucked him! He got knocked out by my shoulder to the face. He literally didn't see me coming. I ran the purse to the lady,( it looked like a flying purse), gave it to her and ran off on my way to school.

                                 Study Hall
  • I would like to add a Study Hall to our schools curriculum.
  • This class would meet 7th period.
  • The students will it in their seats and do any type of work that they can possibly do. They may quietly talk among each other.
  • It will look like a big room full of students, maybe the auditorium. It would be a quiet class, unless the students rowdy. The only way to control the students is to discipline them with pending consequences.
  • The only way that the students would be able to demonstrate their learning is to look at their report cards before they had the class and after they had the class.

Meerkat arrives on Android ahead of Twitter's Periscope
Meerkat, the popular service that lets users live-stream video to their Twitter followers, is now on Android, ahead of Twitter -- its top competitor and the very company it relies on to drive its service. Meerkat brought its app to the Google Play store on April 30. In March, Twitter announced the launch of its own livestreaming platform, called Periscope. Like Meerkat at the time, Periscope was only available on iOS and Twitter said that an Android version was "in the works."

YouTube Turns 10!: The Video Site That Went Viral
Today, YouTube attracts more than 1 billion unique visitors a month -- or one out of every seven people on the planet. YouTube's main attraction at first wasn't the videos you could watch but the files you could store online. The founders wanted to create an easy way to share videos, not necessarily a place to sit back and let others watch them. At a time when video files were large and online storage capabilities for them were scarce, YouTube's appeal was in its role as an early version of now popular cloud-based service Dropbox.

Wiki Opinion

  • Wiki stands for "quick" in Hawaiian, so if you're trying to figure something out quick here's where to go.
  • I like how it's not bias and it is balanced in between opinions about whatever the topic is.
  • I personally would rather use a search engine such as Google to search something, I wouldn't go straight onto Wikipedia.
  • Wikipedia is very helpful.
  • It is a good website to use when you are starting research.

Spring Break Blog

Spring Break
Over Spring Break of 2015 I spent a lot of time with my Dad believe it or not. My Step-Mom went to Florida to go visit her sister because she had just past away. I didn't want my Dad to feel alone the whole time. When I wasn't with my Dad I was out with my friends.
I went to the movies two times. The first time I went to the movies I saw Fast & The Furious 7. It was probably the best movie I have ever seen. Sine Paul Walker died they made an amazing tribute for him. The second movie I saw was Get Hard staring Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell. It wasn't anything to go crazy over but it was a funny movie. If I had to rate them from a 1-10, I would give Fast 7 a 10-10 and i'd give Get Hard a 7 1/2-10.

The Driver's License of the future is coming to your Smartphone
A few states have begun the journey toward offering a digital version of your driver's license that would reside on your phone. But the going could be stop and go for a while. The printed plastic driver's license has been a standard for decades, acting not just as proof that you can drive but as an ID to verify your age and identity.

  • Now, just as concert tickets, airline boarding passes, Starbucks loyalty cards and even your wallet are migrating onto your smartphone, your driver's license seems headed down the same route.

 V1sion
First V1sion is opening a new funding round next week. The company puts a tiny, unobtrusive camera in the chest of a sports player's shirt, the footage beaming out live, real-time video to show you what it's like in the heart of the action. And speaking of hearts, the special shirt has a heart-rate monitor too, so each video stream also shows how hard the player is working right now.

Meet Runcible
Its standout feature is its shape. Runcible is circular, with a concave wooden back designed to nestle in your palm. It's got a screen on the front, a camera on the back and a heft that makes it feel substantial. By eschewing a conventional rectangular, slab-like design and app-centric software, the startup is hoping to draw attention as a funky alternative for people who don't live on their smartphones.
Despite such differences, Runcible can still do most things a standard smartphone can, including making calls, surfing the Web, sending texts and taking photos. It doesn't, however, run apps. Instead, it's designed to be a pocket watch for the iPhone age.

Feb 20: Multimedia Blog Posting

Italian
This year i'm taking Italian 3.
My teachers name is Mrs. Iannacco. She is a great teacher. Somehow, she plans a lot of field trips. Recently our class went to Academia Barilla and Eataly, both in New York City. When we went to Academia Barilla we made homemade Lasagna.
It was amazing. Coming into Italian 3, I expected to learn a lot more Italian than I have the past two years. In class we watch a lot of videos which makes learning a lot easier. She shows us Art from Italy. Italy is known for their amazing arts. We don't really use technology in class as much as other classes. We use books a lot and just take our notes out of the book. This way we don't have to worry about charging a computer. Here is the homepage to her website. Mrs. Iannacco has a strict grading policy. On her website she has a summary on what each class will be learning that year. Here is a link to that part of her website.

Google Inbox App Heads to tablets, Firefox, and Safari.
Google said that its Inbox email app is now available on the iPad and Android tablets. Previously, the app was restricted to the iPhone and Android smartphones, though it was also available via the Web. You can download the iPad version from Apple's App Store and the Android version from Google Play.
Inbox is a new type of email program for Google, separate from Gmail. Instead of placing your messages into the traditional folders, Inbox displays each email message based on categories, or bundles. Emails deemed important may be placed into one bundle in your inbox, while those related to specific areas, such as social or travel, are placed into a different bundle. The aim is to have the software organize all of your email so that you don't have to.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
Samsung is planning to invest about $3.6 billion dollars in there new product called the Galaxy Note Edge. As you can see, the right side of the phone is curved so that the screen stretches on to the side of the phone. Thus the name "Edge". There will be two different types. On of the phones will only have one edge curved and the other will have both sides curved. The screen is 5.6 inches long, compared to the iPhone 6 which is about 5.4 inches long. So it is a decent size.
Samsung has recently been suffering in phone sales, so Samsung is hoping that the Galaxy Note Edge will explore some revenue for them and diversify there business.

welcome

Hello, my name is Matt Triano. I like the gym, money, and music. I dislike annoying little kids, when I find a piece of hair in my food, and snakes. I have a pretty big family, and a variety of friends. I only have two real classes, the rest are basically all electives. I plan on taking whatever path in my life that will make me the richest. I don't work because I don't have time to so I only help around the house.
